Ingredients per 6 servings

1 cup (4.5oz/125g) flour

⅓ cup (3oz/80g) butter at room temperature

½ cup (2oz/60g) icing sugar

2 pinches of salt

1 tbsp (0.4oz/10g) vanilla sugar

1 egg yolk

Almond

Red food color gel (optional)

Crumbled Brownies (see recipe)

Preparation

  • Mix the flour, salt, icing sugar and vanilla sugar
  • Cut the butter in little pieces, add to the flour and knead until a firm and homogenous dough (when the dough is to dry, add 1 tsp (0.4oz/10g) more butter)
  • Wrap the dough in plastic foil and transfer to the fridge for 1 hour
  • Pre heat the oven until 350°F (180°C)
  • Take the dough out of the fridge and roll out like a sausage 0.8in (2cm) thickness (like a finger)
  • Cut the sausage every 4in (10cm) and mold every piece like a finger, and use a knife to form the skin creases
  • Beat the egg yolk and brush it over the finger
  • Break the almonds lengthwise and insert them at the top of the finger to imitate the fingernail.
  • Transfer the cookies to a baking pan lined with baking paper
  • Bake during 20-25 minutes
  • Drip some red food color over the finger (like blood).
  • Crumble brownies in a bowl to give the illusion of grave yard soil
  • Stick the fingers in the bowl like a zombie who is crawling out
  • Have fun
